Bums On Seats For Brexit

by | Oct 31, 2018

When Britain finally leaves the EU in March of next year, toilet paper in the UK could be in shortage – with only one day’s supply currently held in the UK right now.

The United Kingdom is Europe’s biggest importer of the product, and on average each of us consume 110 toilet rolls a year – two and half times the European average.

Britain leaves the EU Customs Union in five months’ time, and trucks transporting the most necessary of toiletries could be held up at Calais or Dover, if no trade deal is in place.

Port officials have warned that increasing the average time it takes to clear customs by as little as two minutes could lead to 17-mile traffic jams.

Prime Minister Theresa May, will be looking to secure a deal that ensures customs at the border will cause as little of a delay as possible.
